helping people
to drive
their production
efficiency
Various
Scenarios of Using dbPEP
Examples:
(A) Employees have their own copy of dbPEP at the
stations where they work and enter their production entries right online, with
the on screen timer, so it is accurate. Some are connected to the network, some
not. If not, they simply uses the data exchange templates, print a copy and give
a soft copy on diskette to their Supervisor at the end of the shift.
There are a lot less errors due to bad writing and wrong transcriptions.
(B) A Plant Engineer imports from another system the detailed production entries
monthly by using dbPEP data exchange templates, and uses dbPEP to analyze the
results. So he saves time by getting suggested new standard rates easily
and can determine the impact of specific lines/teams/work shifts on efficiency.
He has then proper documentation to make appropriate changes, to compare
productivity of teams and work shifts and question as needed. He has also an
automatic monthly report of updated standard rates which is sent to all
Supervisors, his boss and to the accounting people.
(C) A Supervisor reviews production entries daily more quickly since it is
mostly centralized and publishes the results, on a board. He also has
an automatic report by-email that is published every week for the controller.
Now he is more inclined to do this process because there is a lot less
paperwork and takes much less time.
(D) A Maintenance Supervisor receives automatically a report of ratios of delays
also by e-mail; he is also asked to add justifications to unexpected delays over
1 hour.
(E) A Plant Manager uses dbPEP to send e-mails to get more information on
some specific production entries.
(F) Another company Supervisor uses dbPEP to determine the amount the company
owes to team/employees, as a result of their output because this company uses a
pay per piece system. Each week, he print out a reports that he approves
and signs. He forwards this document to inform human resources and accounting
departments. In addition to this, the company uses dbPEP to pay
incentives when overall efficiency is better than 108% for one week.
(G) A Plant Manager gathers all justifications in dbPEP of excessive delays and
not quite satisfying efficiency, so he will be in a better position to
explain the results of his unit at the management committee monthly review.
They are impressed with the quality of the documentation used.
(H) A Clerk gets from dbPEP the report of progressive output by Production
Number and updates quickly the company ERP system with the summarized results.
dbPEP tracks what records have been considered at last update, so the next time
this operation will be done, it will be only new records or the ones that were
'On Hold'.
(I) In another company, the Clerk does not have to update their ERP system this
way, because it is automatic. They asked Soramtec to set up a simple module that
is run after each work shift. Exported data is configured to be compatible with
the company's specific ERP system. Only for this small company, it saves at
least 3 hours of work each week and reduces error.
... so what is your case?
